YEAR of CREATING PILOTS
A P I 's
training
is recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration and each Flight Certificate
you earn is recognized world wide. You will learn through hands-on training
with FAA certified ground and flight instructors
at your side. Our experienced instructors have gone through extensive
training programs in order to provide you with our standardized and thorough
curriculum.
A P I
has
been teaching pilots to fly safely and efficiently for more than 30
years in the Chicago Air Space, one of the most professional and
safest flight environments in the world. During your training, you will
be utilizing the same system and controllers that professional airline
and corporate pilots use, which will provide you
with the confidence to fly anywhere in the world.
Private
Pilot Certificate To obtain a Private Pilot Certificate
you must accumulate a minimum of 40 hours of flight time, of which 30
hours is Dual Flight Instruction, and 10 hours of Solo Flight Time. The
only prerequisite to start your flight training is that you are able to
read, write, and understand the English language. Certification
is accomplished by passing a physical exam, written exam, oral exam, and
flight exam. The physical exam is required before you are allowed
to fly the aircraft by yourself and it is administered by an FAA designated
medical examiner. All other exams are administered at API. The normal
time to complete your training is from three to six months.
Scheduling
Each Flight Lesson is scheduled
for three hours. This consists of two hours and
fifteen minutes of flight instruction and fifteen minutes
of either pre or post flight ground instruction. An additional
half hour is scheduled at no charge, for any tasks such as going to and
from the aircraft, inspecting the aircraft, securing the aircraft and
completing all required paperwork.
Time
The length of time that your training will take
will depend on your availability, weather conditions and your skills and
learning abilities.
Cost
The total cost of your flight training will vary with your
abilities, your availability, your willingness and dedication to learning.
The cost per lesson is based
on the Hourly Rate calculated to the nearest tenth of an hour.
